Love Song

If we become winds and then meet again,

If we cover our eyes and face with the thick

mist;

If we cover even the blood that drives daggers

into the heart.

If we meet as winds

that laugh for awhile in the empty skies

before they go back.

If we meet again as dry sunrays

over the shiny wood grain

in a corner of the yard scattered with millet

stalk

or on the veranda.

Everything has left,

and the first snow falls over the morning.

If we meet again

with the purity of birds spreading their wings

for flight.

If we meet as the painful night rain

of the arthritis that aches all over.

Hard and long seasons.

O if we meet again each day as something real.

우리가 만일 바람이 되어 다시 만난다면

깊은 안개에

눈 가리고

낯 가리고

심장에 칼 꽃는 피도 가리고

허공에서 잠시 웃다가 돌아가는

바람이 되어 만난다면

수수깡 널려 있는 뜰안 한 귀퉁이

혹은 대청마루

반들거리는 나무결 위에

습기 없는 햇살로

다시 만난다면

모두가 떠나가고

첫눈 내리는 아침

비상(飛翔)하기 위하여

날개를 펴는

새의 순수로 만난다면

질기고 긴 세월

구석구석 저리는 관절염의

아픈 밤비로 만난다면

오,

우리가 매일 무엇으로 다시 만난다면
